All's well that ends well

From July 11
Am sitting here at the Starbucks in Bangsar Village 2 exhausted. Kids are making arts and crafts and I have some work to do, but can't muster the force to do anything except peck away at the keyboard. I was up late last night hunting down the rodents that used to live in our flat. The workmen came yesterday and sealed all the holes to the outside so it was my turn to clean house: suffice it to say that with three types of traps my efforts were met with success. Cockroaches, ants, salamanders, ok in doses, but not rodents.

Nice mushroom house dude!
This morning I dropped Aurelia off and went again to my Iyengar yoga class with Rowan. It's been a rigorous week and my body is feeling crushed by all the stretching and opening we are doing.

Marlene and I are moving to lock in our itineraries for Nepal and Canada. We are so excited to be back home and see our friends and families again. I'm really excited for the kids to find themselves with their cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents again - they miss everyone so much. It will be wonderful to see the joy on their faces.

Writing on Monday night:
Well, the rest of the week turned out rather well. Bringing out the real manmum in me I decided to throw the kids a cupcake party, so after school we went to China town to get hats and balloons. Back at home Rowan and I baked some muffins, er, I mean cupcakes... and I made some icing from scratch (couldn't bring myself to put on the chemically store-bought stuff). Then we invited Gaby and Finley over and they all got to decorate their muffins with sparkles. They loved it, but man did it make a mess. Good thing I did it outside, but it will be a while before we do that again- maybe sometime that Glory is here! Other highlights of the week included teaching Aurelia to make her own breakfast - soon Saturday mornings will be mine again! She is also using a knife at the table a little bit and even washed her own hair. As always, encouraging and loving the independence, but also hating and regretting it as well. My little girl... XO
Finally Ramadam started, and it seems like the loud speaker at the local mosque hasn't stopped. Ramadan Mubarak!

Parteh!
I'm feeling like a pretty good dad right about now

Lord.
Thinking of Meme and mangoes
Aurelia and her first self-made bagel!
